The Department of Jewish History and Bible of the University of Haifa
is pleased to announce a call for applications for the Wolfson Chair
Doctoral Fellowship in Jewish Thought for the 2021–22 academic year.
The Wolfson Fellowship is designated for outstanding students
registering in the departmental doctoral program and is granted for a
period of four years. The annual fellowship award is in the amount of
60,000 ILS.

Preference will be given to students whose proposed research in the
history of Jewish Thought is well-suited to the areas of expertise of
the department faculty. A list of the faculty may be consulted here:

Candidates are invited to submit applications by July 1, 2021. 

Applications should be emailed to jewhistdep@univ.haifa.ac.il and
must include:

- two letters of recommendation
- a current curriculum vitae
- complete transcripts of grades from previous and current university
 degree programs
- a preliminary thesis proposal containing a description of up to ten
 pages in length of the candidate’s anticipated dissertation topic
- a letter from a departmental faculty member expressing consent to
 advise the applicant’s work

The scholarship is granted pending full admission to the doctoral
program according to the regulations of the University of Haifa.

Interviews will be conducted for candidates who have been shortlisted
for the fellowship.

fellowship; the decisions of the Fellowship Committee are final and
not subject to appeal. Wolfson Fellows are obliged to honor the terms
